Walter Edward Buhrie

Walter Edward Buhrie, of St. Clair Shores, age 81 years, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at ShorePointe Nursing Center in St. Clair Shores. Walter was born January 22, 1943 in Detroit and grew up with his siblings where he graduated from Lakeview High School. He graduated from bootcamp, 28 November 1961 from K.O. Barnett MMC, San Diego, California. He was a retired auto worker who enjoyed being on the golf course, bowling, playing horseshoes, and spending time with family.

Walter is survived by his wife, Martha; children, Marty Buhrie, Konnie (Jim) Brust; siblings, John Buhrie and William (Rose) Rinn; grandchildren, Tyler Buhrie, Alix, Chloe, and Brianna Brust. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter Buhrie, Sr. and Coral Buhrie; and his three sisters, Rhea Mae, Marilyn, and Theresa Rose.

A committal service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, with military honors afforded by the U.S. Navy.
