Walter B. Galat

Walter Benny Galat,73, of Grindstone City, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at home under hospice Care.

Wally was born February 26, 1946 in Germany to the late Michael and Maria Galat. He immigrated to the US as a young child with his family settling in Michigan. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Warren. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He married Diane Mayewski on October 24, 1984 in Centerline.

He enjoyed cooking, especially smoking meats and barbequing. He shot pool for several local leagues.

He is survived by his wife Diane; children Wally (Andrea), Maria, Jonathan (Jessica), Courtney (Leo) VanValkenburgh and Heather; 13 grandchildren; brother Paul (Patty) and sister Nadia.

There will be a private family service. Champagne Funeral Chapel in handling the cremation.
