Walter John Lewandowski, 75, of Pigeon, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City.
Walt was born December 29, 1941 in Wyandotte to the late Walter Peter and Julia (Kozma) Lewandowski. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, Wyandotte in 1960. He worked as a master butcher for Great Scott in the Detroit area before moving to Oak Beach in 1986 and opening Walt’s Meat Market. He sold Walt’s in 1999. He formerly served as the Hume Township Supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, playing pool and shooting darts.
He is survived by his children Kristen (Tim) Anderson of Colorado, Barbara Fennelly of Trenton, Lisa Fennelly of Allen Park and Kirt (Ronni) Lewandowski of Colorado; grandchildren Kate (James), Sara, Anthony, Sophia, Heather, Maegen (John), Justin, Ryleigh, Stephen (Leigh), Aubrie, Autumn, Lindsey and Lauren; great-granddaughter Lennox; and brother Tim (Marilyn) Kennedy of Dearborn Heights. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Kennedy and his beloved dog Daisy.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, November 4th at Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
