Wanda Huffman

Wanda J. Huffman, age 85, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 22, 1924 in Grant Township in Huron County, the daughter of the late Lloyd & Maude (Ottaway) Karr. She was united in marriage with Harold “Huff” Huffman in Cass City on May 19, 1944. Wanda was a graduate of Cass City High School, Tuscola County Normal, and Central Michigan University. She retired in 1979 from Saginaw City Schools as a guidance counselor after serving in public education for thirty-one years. Wanda taught in numerous school systems throughout the thumb area, and she leaves many former students with wonderful memories of her patience, knowledge and love. Wanda will be missed by her three daughters and their spouses, Gayle Haas of Caro, Phyllis & Leonard Ford of Caro, and Carole & Mike Williams of Pelkie. Wanda was a proud grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother to sixteen. Wandas family is eternally grateful to Heartland Hospice and most especially to Sally, Lori and Nancy. These women gave our mother so much more than simple care - they loved her, and she loved them.
