Wayne William Montei

Wayne William Montei of Fairgrove, age 75, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland with his family by his side. He was born January 11, 1950 in Caro, the son of the late Douglas and Hazel (Sayers) Montei. Wayne graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School in 1968 and from Michigan State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He was employed at Central Foundry in Saginaw as an automotive engineer before returning to the family farm. Wayne operated the family farm as the fourth generation until his retirement. He will always be remembered for his love of antique John Deere tractors.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his brothers & their wives, Mark & Linda Montei and Ted & Cindy Montei; two nephews & their wives, Matthew & Sabrina Montei and Ryan & Cheryl Montei; and one niece, Kelly Montei.

Wayne’s memorial service will be on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Caro First Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Herron officiating. The family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
