Wayne Anthony Petrie

Wayne A. Petrie, 71, of Bay Port, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his home under hospice care.

Wayne was born June 23, 1945 in Belleville to the late Anthony and Beatrice (Kline) Petrie. He married Betty Jane Rivest on April 15, 1965 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Belleville. They moved to Bay Port in 1972. He retired from Ellenbaum Truck Sales as a welder and heavy truck mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Betty; children Toni Newell of Bad Axe, Betty Jane (Ed) Beam of Saginaw, Lori (Troy) Forman of Caro, Waynette Brush (Dan Lazarus) of Louisiana, Nicholas Petrie (Karissa Martinez) of Sebewaing and Duane Petrie (Shannon Wolschleger) of Bay Port; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister Judith Utpadel of Whittemore; and mother-in-law Geraldine Rivest of Bay Port. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert and Eugene, granddaughter Rebecca Nickerson, great-granddaughter Clare Forman and father-in-law Eugene Rivest.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 Thursday, July 7th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Elkton with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-8 Wednesday at the funeral home in Elkton.
