Bob Stoddard, age 99, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro, following a brief illness. He was born May 14, 1908 in Millington, the son of the late Charles & Sadie (Storm) Stoddard. He was united in marriage to the former Cassie Kilbourne in 1928. Bob and his wife moved to Watrousville in the 1940s where they owned and operated the Stoddard Market for over thirty years. The Stoddard Market soon became the meeting place for young and old alike and the community center for meetings and news of the day. Bob loved to be involved with people, at the market, or helping with elections at the Juniata Township Hall. He dearly loved his family and going north to his cabin on Little Long Lake near Harrison. Hunting and fishing were activities he always set aside time for. Cassie, Bobs wife of nearly forty years, preceded him in death on September 21, 1967. Surviving are one daughter and her husband, Chris and Sandy Crosby of Watrousville; six grandchildren, Jill Baker, Bob Greig, Barb Griffin, Eric Stoddard, Todd Crosby, Lee Crosby; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Maryann Stoddard. In addition to his wife, Bob was preceded in death by three children, Dick Stoddard, Hope Greig, Carol Stoddard; one granddaughter, Kim Csapo; one son-in-law, Tom Greig; one brother, Milan Stoddard; sister, Bernice McPherson; one half-brother and half-sister, Margarite Coon and William Stoddard.
