Wesley Foster

Wesley Foster, age 72, of Caro passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He and his twin Lesley were born on February 13, 1938 in Caro to the late Harry and Beulah (Spaulding) Foster. He was a lifelong resident of Caro and a Caro High School Graduate. Wes served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1957 to 1960. Wesley Foster and the former Shirley Lorf were married on April 9, 1960 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Wes had been employed with the Tuscola County Road Commission for 37 years as a heavy equipment operator, and in later years mowing roadsides and doing snow removal until he retired in December of 2000. For many years he also worked as a part-time deputy for the Tuscola County Sheriffs Department. He loved to putts around the house and also enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three children, Kimberly (Robert) Barber of Akron, Kelli Roberts and Kurt Bach of Sebewaing, Ronald (Dena) Foster of Caro; 10 grandchildren; one great- granddaughter; a brother, Jim Foster of Cass City; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant twin brother, Lesley. The funeral will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. with Chaplain Doug Bassett officiating. In accordance with Wesleys wishes, cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
