Wesley Allen Rundell

Wesley "Wes" A. Rundell, Jr., age 91, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Scheurer Long Term Care in Pigeon.

Wes was born in Bay City on March 1, 1926, to Wesley and Meta (Hornbacher) Rundell. After graduating from high school, he was immediately drafted into the United States Army, serving during WWII where he was wounded and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He married Evelyn J. Fritz on July 16, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He owned and operated Rundell Floor Covering in Pigeon. We was a member of the Sebewaing American Legion Post # 293, Sebewaing Sportsman's VFW, was an avid collector of Sebewaing Beer memorabilia, enjoyed singing in the church choir, bowling, playing cards, traveling, going to Florida every winter, and sitting in the sun reading his newspaper. He was also a member of New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Wes is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children: Alan J. (Luann) Rundell of Sebewaing and Wesley Arthur Rundell, III of Cape Coral, FL; and 3 grandchildren: Kendra A. (Justin) Hornbacher, Kelsey L. (Bradley) Chrcek, and Wesley Robert Rundell.

Wes is preceded in death by his daughter, Carol A. Rundell; and brother, Donald Rundell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-7pm.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to New Salem Lutheran Church.
