Wilbert Carl Koch

Wilbert Carl Koch, age 94, of Unionville, was called to his heavenly home on June 26, 2024. He died peacefully in his sleep with his wife by his side.

He was born December 8, 1929 in Sebewaing to Ernest and Ernestina (Menzel) Koch. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Ondrajka on May 1, 1954 at St. Peter's Lutheran Parsonage in Bach.

He worked for Industrial Brownhoist for 28 years and was a volunteer firefighter for ACW-Unionville Fire Department for 22 years. He did odd jobs for Gettel Motors, cleaned the floors at Luke's Supermarket, and was the janitor for St. Paul Lutheran Church and School for 10 years. He enjoyed woodworking, playing euchre, horseshoes, shuffle board and listening to polka music. After retirement, he spent 28 winters in Florida.

Wilbert is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty; son, Lester Koch; daughters: Patricia Self and Dorothy (Marty) Geiger; grandchildren: Ben Koch, David Koch, Jessica Crowe, Jennifer Crowe, Britni Berg, Brandi Crowe, Brian Geiger, Sandy (Jason Ganley) Geiger, Matthew (Catalina) Geiger, Hank (Melody) Self, Jacob (Tasha) Self, Kody Koch and Nathan (Jasmine) Koch; and 22 great grandchildren.

Proceeded him in death are his parents; 4 sisters; 3 brothers; sons: Stanley Koch and Todd Koch; daughter, Cynthia Crowe; granddaughter, Sarah Koch; grandson, Clinton Self; great granddaughter, Kylie Berg; son-in-law, Jerry Self; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Koch.

Cremation has taken place. The family will have a private service at a later date.
