Wilfred Lane

Wilfred R. Lane, age 57, of Grand Ledge, formerly of Caro died on Saturday, June 18, 2011 in Detroit. He was born on June 14, 1954 in Detroit to the late Eldon and Anna (Briolat) Lane. Will was a 1972 Caro High School graduate and received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan in electrical engineering. On August 11, 1979 he was united in marriage to Jory Marks at Dow Gardens in Midland. Will has worked in engineering throughout his work career, and most recently he was an instrument reliability engineer with the Marathon Petroleum Company in Detroit. He was interested in National Wildlife, U of M alumni, and a variety of professional organizations. Will enjoyed water activities, working on cars, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Jory Marks-Lane; a daughter, Cara Lane of Grand Ledge; his sister, Sandra Lane of Lansing; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The memorial service will be held at the Collon Funeral on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronald Wigand officiating. Following cremation, burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the National Wildlife Federation or the charity of the donors choice.
