Willard J. Seley

Willard J. "Bill" Seley age 88, died Tuesday morning August 3, at Huron Medical Center.
He was born August 18, 1921 at the home of his parents, the late Arthur and Carrie (Holtz) Seley in Sherdian Twp.

Willard graduated from Elkton High School in 1939 and enlisted in the US Army during WW II. On January 1, 1942 , he was united in marriage to Marjorie E. Bruce in Bad Axe. They lived and raised their family on a farm south of Elkton in Grant Twp. Marge preceded him in death December 22, 2007.

Bill worked at the Elkton Tile Plant a number of years, Shetler Plumbing and retired from Active Industries in 1983, all the while he farmed his farm. He was an avid fisherman both on the water and the ice. He also enjoyed hunting all types of game.
Surviving are four children, John (Doris) Seley of Elkton, Susanne (Sal) Kanaski of Filion, Janet (Frank) Ellicot of Mayville and Carol (Ray) Caverly of Gagetown; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and two sisters, Marjorie (Wayne) Campbell of Bad Axe and Genevieve Faupel of Saline.
Preceding him in death were two grandsons, Berry Davison and Jeffrey Seley; two sisters, Audrey Bouck and Madelyn Krause and a brother, Leonard Seley.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, August 6, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton where friends may call from 2 to 9 PM Thursday and after 10 AM Friday. Rev. Karen Bouverette will officiate with burial and military honors at Colfax Twp Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Laker FFA, Heartland Hospice or Meadow Lane Assisted Living Activity Fund.
