William J. Anderson, 92, of Caseville, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe.
Bill was born October 29, 1928 in Croswell to the late William Sr. and Martha (Ellerthorp) Anderson. He graduated from Croswell High School and Alma College. He served in the US Army during the Korean War as a language specialist. He married Carole Rohlfs on December 23, 1952 in Caro; she preceded him in death on December 12, 2014.
After his discharge from the service he settled in Akron where he was president of R & S Corporation and Akron State Bank. In 1973 he moved to Caseville and co-owned the Bella Vista and was a partner in the Caseville Real Estate One office. Bill was a member of the Caseville Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards.
Bill is survived by his children Paul (Kathy) of Texas, David (Gretchen) of Colorado, Cheryl (Tom) Cullen of Alaska and Nancy (Scott) Smith of Pigeon; grandchildren Michelle (Andy) Schneider, Michael (Lauren), Jason (Emily) Smith, Sara (Adam) Katt, and Katie (Nick) Verhaar; great-grandchildren Olivia, Jordan, Flint, Michael, Carolynn, Teddy, Kaycie, and Esther; sisters Lora Gravish of Lexington and Orthella Swalla of Ohio.
A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, June 19th at Pigeon First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cindy Gibbs officiating. Friends may begin gathering at church after 10:00am Saturday.
