It is in deep sorrow and unwavering faith and trust in the Lord that we announce the passing of our beloved family members, William Edward II, Barbara Joan, and Megan Nicole Putman, who went home to be with Jesus on September 26, 2025.
Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice knowing that they are now whole and free, standing in the presence of our Savior.
William "Bill" Edward Putman II was 65 years old when he left this earth to be with God. He was a strong man of God who devoted his life to Christ, his family, and his friends in that order. Bill was a dedicated husband, Dad, Papa, mentor, and a man of unwavering, steadfast faith. He lived each day with a servant’s heart, always putting others before himself and striving to lead his family with strength, conviction, and devotion. Bill’s faith was not hidden but lived out boldly, inspiring those around him to trust in the Lord. He was firm in his beliefs and deeply committed to teaching and guiding others in truth. Bill often spoke of planting seeds for Christ, faithfully sowing into the lives of everyone that he met. His ability to talk to anybody opened doors for our family to have a ministry of our own. We never left a waiting room or vacation without someone’s phone number to add to our ministry because of his love for people and the ability to see when someone needed Christ. All in all, his life reflected the love of Christ, and his legacy will continue to bear fruit in the lives of all who were blessed by his example, a true disciple of Christ.
Megan Nicole Putman was 37 years old, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Above all else, she was a faithful woman of God. Megan’s quiet strength truly reflected the heart of Christ. Megan loved God and her family deeply, she served humbly, and placed God and her family above all else. Her devotion to her loved ones was unwavering, and her gentle spirit left an imprint on every heart she touched. God gave her both an inward and outward beauty that Blake would always be sure she knew. She loved her garden where sometimes you would find her in her dress clothes from work. She spent her evenings and weekends in the kitchen with the girls cultivating their cooking skills whether it be with sourdough bread or making whatever birthday cake anyone wanted. Although she had a quiet gentle soul, Megan was known for interjecting perfectly-timed “one-liners”. When asked what she was looking forward to as she grew older, she would reply, “Being a stay at home Grandma.” But ultimately, she will be remembered for her dedicated love for Blake, the family, and the way she let God guide her steps daily by radiating His grace, compassion, and truth through her everyday walk.
Barbara Joan Putman was 65 years old. She was a cherished wife, mother, Neenee, and dear friend to many. Barb’s life was marked by godliness, devotion, and steadfast love. She was a loving wife whose greatest purpose was to glorify God and faithfully serve alongside her husband and family. Each ministry Bill would start, Barb would help cultivate. Every morning she would send a picture of her coffee cup and/or the Bible chapters our family reads daily to over two-hundred people plus the thousands on social media keeping so many accountable to stay in God's Word every day. She had a spunk and a way of saying things bluntly that was refreshing and hilarious all at once, although her story telling skills weren’t described as refined. She put so much time into loving her grandkids and you would often find her laying on their beds listening to them tell her stories of their day. She loved deeply, prayed faithfully, and poured herself into creating a home that reflected Christ’s love. Barb’s joy was found in serving God and caring for her family, and her unwavering faith was evident in both her words and her actions. Her life stood as a testimony of grace, strength, and enduring love for Christ and for those she held most dear.
Together, William, Barbara, and Megan leave behind a legacy of faith, family, and love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew them. Their lives were bound together by devotion to Christ and to one another. Bill in his steadfast strength and bold faith, Barb in her deep love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family, and Megan in her radiant godliness, joyful spirit, and wholesome love for Christ. Though our hearts grieve, we rejoice in knowing they now stand whole and complete in the presence of our Savior, leaving us with the hope and assurance that their faith will continue to inspire generations to come.
A funeral service to celebrate their lives will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Caro First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Ellington Township Cemetery in Caro. The Putman family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Caro First Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Family and loved ones are invited to join us in worship, remembrance, and thanksgiving for the gift that God sent us His one and only Son so we could one day be in Heaven.
As a family, we take comfort in God’s promises: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
We, the family, ask that if you would like to share a memory, please write it down and send it to PO Box 444, Caro, MI 48723.
