William "Billy" Bemis

William “Billy” Bemis of Marlette, age 90, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Marlette Regional Hospital. Billy was born September 10, 1933 in Fairgrove, the son of the late Earl and Gladys (Hilleker) Bemis. From an early age all the way into his 70’s, Billy loved riding his bike. He could always be found sweeping the floors, mowing the lawn, raking leaves, or shoveling snow, but only with his OWN tools. Billy loved his wagon and used it for everything, from hauling the to trash to curb to piling up the leaves – he would even give you a ride in it if you were lucky! Billy enjoyed spending time with his family, going on shopping trips, and eating out – especially at McDonald’s. His family will forever miss his friendly farewell of “Call me!”

Billy leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Maybelle Sarles; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his siblings, Viola (Bob) Teachout and James (Donna) Bemis.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Rev. Marc Herron will officiate with the burial following at Wahjamega Cemetery. Billy’s family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
