William Dawson

William J. Dawson, age 67, of Caro passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. He was born on July 3, 1943 in Marlette to the late Raymond and Inez (Austin) Dawson. Bill graduated from Kingston High School, where he was very involved in sports, having received letters in baseball, basketball and football. As a youth and young man, he trained and rode horses. He then went to work at General Motors and through the years was employed at Marlette Manufacturing, General Cable, and at the Caro Regional Center. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Bill enjoyed singing and listening to music. His family was a big part of his life. He is survived by two daughters, Tina (Greg) Planck of Cass City and Rhonda (Mike) Sattelberg of Caro; four grandchildren, Michael (Kristina Fall) Krzewinski of Sylvania, Ohio, Mark Krzewinski of Bay City, Korissa Planck at home, Jared Sattelberg at home; step-grandchildren, Billie Jo Sweeeney of Grand Blanc, Bobbi Jo Planck of Standish, Star Lynn Planck of Lapeer; 4 step-great- grandchildren; his siblings, Larry (Barb) Dawson of Arizona, Joan Nickens of Kingston, Richard (Linda) Dawson of Mt. Morris, and Barb Valik of Kingston; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the remainder of his siblings, Lois Goodfellow, Janet Dawson, Elaine Dawson, June Zyrowski, Mike Dawson and Iris Barrons. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Sr. Riccardina Silvestri, MC, Pastoral Administrator, St. Michael Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Wilmot. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the William Dawson family discretionary fund, c/o Rhonda Sattelberg.
