William Francis Delacourt

William Francis Delacourt of Caro, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Bill was born February 25, 1951 in Cadillac, the son of the late William Delacourt & Mary (O'Connor) Delacourt. He grew up in Detroit where he met and married the love of his life, best friend, and next-door neighbor Carol Juopperi on June 4, 1968. They were married for fifty-one years and raised four children. Bill was a man of many trades. He spent thirty years as a master mechanic. Bill was a beef farmer on Mud Creek Road in Mass City. He spent over twenty years working in the community on numerous boards and committees. Bill and Carol opened their home to many foster care children for over fifteen years. He oversaw the Alternative Center in Mass City. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ewen. When he moved to Caro, he continued to work with children and families through the Tuscola County Department of Human Services. He is remembered as a man with a big heart who was always helping anyone he could. Bill is survived, by his wife, Carol; four children, Theresa (Gary) McKinney, Patrick (Sherry) Delacourt, Michael (Lisa) Delacourt, Sheila (Brandon) Kazmerski; six grandchildren, Cody James, Amber James, Natalie (Andy) Lysaker, Shawn Delacourt, Jessica (Ashton) Welch, William (Kristina) Delacourt; five great-grandchildren, Phineas, Noelle, Katara, Skylar, Athena; brother, James (Debbie) Delacourt; brother-in-law, James Callaway; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and special lifetime friends. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Scout Building, 959 Flint Street, Frankenmuth, MI 48735.
