William Louis Fader

William Louis Fader of Unionville, age 79, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. Bill was born May 3, 1943, in Cass City, the son of the late Vern and Gertrude (Putnam) Fader. He was united in marriage with the former Norma Greenfield on January 30, 1965 at the Caro First Baptist Church, and she survives. Bill was employed at the Colling elevator, Rayl Millwright & Co-Operative Elevator, self-employed Amish transporter and material handler, and also played drums for Denny and the Music Makers. He enjoyed dirt track racing, camping, fishing, crossword puzzles, and bowling for many years with both his sons. Bill was famous for making peanut butter fudge and loved time spent with his grandchildren. He attended the Colling Church of the Nazarene where he played drums also. Bill is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Norma; three children , William L. Fader II and his wife, Carnel, of Unionville, Marie Thane and her husband, Bill, of Cass City, Jason Fader and his wife, Kristie, of Linwood; seven grandchildren, B.J., Scott, Michalla, Brock, Cole, Brendan, Madison; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Douglas Fader and his wife, Colleen, of Unionville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerold, James, and Robert Fader. In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Colling Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Karen Wolfe officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Private inurnment will be at Columbia Township Cemetery.
