William Healy

William J. Healy, 67, passed away at his home on August 9, 2006, following a lingering illness. He was born July 4, 1939 in Caro, the son of the late George Sarah (Thane) Healy, and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1957, and served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961 in England and Spain as a Heavy Vehicle Operator. He was united in marriage on July 30, 1960 in Caro to the former Brenda Rosenstangel, and the couple shared over 46 years together. William was employed at General Motors in Pontiac for 30 years as a Heavy Press Operator, and worked as a woodcrafter after his retirement. He will also be fondly remembered as a Wal-Mart Greeter for the last several years - a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a member and usher at the Caro United Methodist Church, a Scout Master for the Cass City Boy Scouts, and also belonged to the Caro CB Club. William was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed camping, bowling and spending time with his favorite dog, Muffin. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Healy; three sons and their spouses, John Jenny Healy of Saginaw, Robert Samantha Healy of Bellevue, Nebraska, Jeffrey Phanny Healy of Alexandria, Louisiana; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four siblings and their spouses, Betty Chester Kinney of Millington, Larry Kay McCollum of Caro, Dale Nancy McCollum of Caro, Jim Healy of Connecticut and many nieces, nephews and friends.
