William J. Henderson

William J. Henderson of Caro, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City. Bill was born May 25, 1947 in Saginaw, the son of the late Forrest John & Julia (Fisher) Henderson. He was raised in Ithaca and moved to Saginaw in 1967. While in Saginaw, Bill owned and operated Henderson Automotive. In 1991, he moved to Birch Run where he worked for Farm Bureau Insurance as claims adjuster, retiring in 2009. He was united in marriage with the former Linda (Abke) Karr on April 27, 1996, and she survives. Bill was a former two-term governor of the Caro Moose Lodge and two-term district president of the Moose. He was also a member of the Caro Eagles Club and Sons of the American Legion. He was happiest while spending time with his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to play a round of golf. Bill is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Linda Henderson of Caro; three daughters and their spouses, Laura & Robert Burr of Richland, Sandi & Ian Marovich of Caro, Dawn Karr of Caro; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Cassidy Burr, Ashlyn Shrontz, Nathaniel and Trinity Searle; father-in-law, George Abke of Caro; sisters-in-law, Judy Clarkson, Beth Mellendorf, Denise (Dean) Keilitz, Barb Abke; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one grandson, Bradley Shrontz; four siblings, Terry, Phronsie, Sharon, and Ron; mother-in-law, Betty Abke; brothers-in-law, Ron Clarkson, Jeff Mellendorf,, Greg Abke, and Randy Abke. In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place.
