William J. Ihle

William J. Ihle of Caro, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community, following a period of declining health. Bill was born July 21, 1934 in East Detroit, the son of the late William Joseph and Florence (Darr) Ihle. He graduated from Cheboygan High School and attended Ferris State College for radio and television repair. Soon after, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army and studied at its Guided Missile School, serving three years before his honorable discharge as an E5 Specialist Fifth Class. He went on to study at Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Management and met his future bride, Janet Milano. Bill and Janet were united in marriage on October 21, 1967 in St. Charles. Bill's career was spent in information technology and he held positions at various companies that included Boeing, General Cable, Helfrecht Machine and Mueller Systems. His final position was with Wayne County as a systems analyst, retiring in 1999. Bill was quiet by nature, but enjoyed spending time at home and woodworking. Surviving are his wife of forty-eight years, Janet Ihle of Caro; two daughters, Trina Kay Ihle of Lovettsville, Virginia, Lita Rae Ihle of Grand Rapids; his sister, Kathy & Forrest Clore of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Joe Ruder officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Forget-Me-Not Association of the Tuscola County Medical Care Community.
