William “Billy” James Farver of Pigeon, age 53, passed away on the morning of March 27, 2025 at Covenant HealthCare Center in Saginaw. He was born July 14, 1971 in Pigeon, the son of the late William and Georgina (Danyluk) Farver. Billy graduated from Laker High School with the class of 1988. He went on to weld for Moco Thermal in Caseville, then in the construction business all over the U.S., and ultimately retiring from Autokiniton – Elkton, where he worked as a very skilled welder. Billy was a member of Pigeon First United Methodist Church and very loved by his church family.
In his younger years, Billy loved snowmobiling with his brothers and gained a reputation for terrorizing Caseville on his three-wheeler, no matter how many times he got caught. He was an excellent cook and baker, and his grilled meals and barbecues were always a hit. His banana bread and chocolate chip cookies were especially popular. Billy also valued his alone time and took great pride in mowing his lawn. He had a passion for working with metal and welding and was an avid hunter. But above all, Billy cherished spending time with his grandson, Tate, and would do anything for his family and close-knit circle of friends. Over the last two years, Billy found joy in watching the Detroit Lions, always keeping his family updated on the scores, even when they lost. His love, delicious baked goods, and kind spirit will be deeply missed.
Billy leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Joslin (Nicholas) Atkins; grandson, Tate Atkins; brother & sister-in-law, Patrick Farver & Rosanne Seemann; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his brother & sister-in-law, Michael & Pamela Farver.
Billy’s funeral service will be on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 12:00pm at Pigeon First United Methodist Church with a luncheon immediately following. Pastor David Leineke will officiate with the burial held following the luncheon at Caseville Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday at the church from 11:00am until 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider donations to the Pigeon First United Methodist Church Elevator Fund.
