William I Konczal age 81 of Elkton died Thursday morning, April 28, at his home with his family gathered at his bedside.
He was born June 23, 1934 in Detroit to the late William and Isabella (Baker) Konczal Sr.
After serving two years in the US Army, Bill returned to Detroit and worked at General Motors.
When he moved to Huron County, he worked at the Box Factory in Elkton and worked also as a residential builder. Last in his career, he was employed at Terra, a fertilizer plant west of Elkton, retiring in 2000.
Bill was known to his friends as “Bill”, “Willie”, “Wild Bill” or “Snatchum”, he was a full time jokester and enjoyed playing golf, cards, bowling, gardening and visiting with family and friends.
He was a former member of St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog.
Surviving are three daughters, Kim Iseler of Bad Axe, Kris (Dan) Patzschke of DeMotte, IN and Karen (Norm) Hessling of Elkton; three grandchildren, Aaron Konczal, Chelsey Iseler and Jacob (fiancée, Sarah) Patzschke; a great grandson, Brayden Konczal and two brothers.
A memorial service will be conducted 4:30 PM Sunday at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton, where friends may call from 1:00 until the time of services.
