William R. Miller

William R. Miller, age 79, of Port Austin Rd., Hume Twp. died Friday evening, February 8, at his home of injuries he received in a fall.
He was born March 26, 1928 in Croswell to the late Russell and Mabel Miller. After high school, he was inducted in to the US Army. Bill returned to Croswell after his time in the service and then to Flint where he was employed at the Chevrolet plant. Several years later he took a position with Caterpillar in Joliet, IL. On August 31, 1974, he was united in marriage to Geraldine M. Snell at his parent's home in Croswell. He retired from Caterpillar on October 1, 1983 and moved to his home in Hume Twp a short time later.
Bill was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton. His hobbies were tinkering on machinery, building things, woodworking and crafts.
Surviving is his wife, Geraldine; six children, David (Bev) Miller of Joliet, IL, Chris (Dale) Lukanich of Minooka, IL, Bill (Sue) Miller of Naperville, IL, Bob (Nanci) Miller of Kokomo, IN, Larry Miller of Evansville, IL and Larry Freeborg of Port Austin; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Barb (Bill) Boyd of Fenton and Eleanor (Bill) O'Connor of Croswell; a brother, Paul (Elaine) Miller of Foley, AL and his sister-in-law, Pauline Miller of Croswell.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Robert Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 13, at the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton. Rev. Daniel Stone, pastor and Rev. DeWeerd Smith will officiate with burial in Croswell Cemetery, Croswell.
