William Reige

William Reige, 86, of Sebewaing, passed away October 30, 2011 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care, Pigeon, MI. He was born December 18, 1924 in Croswell, MI to Peter and Mary (Hartman) Reige. Willie had three brothers and four sisters. He married Shirley Pobanz on December 4, 1948. They were married 56 years before she passed away in 2004.

Willie was raised and lived all his life in Sebewaing, MI. He worked at Electric Auto Life in Bay City, was a self employed painter and worked at the Michigan Sugar Factory during the campaign. He served over two years in the US Navy on the ship USS Manilla Bay CVE61 and was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, Sportmans, AmVets and Moose Lodge.

Willie is survived by two sons: Michael Reige (his special friend Marcie Fox) and Randall Reige (wife Rhonda), both of Sebewaing; his two remaining sisters: Emily Smith and Emma Schneider, both of Sebewaing; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Willie is preceded in death by his brothers: Dave, Pete and Henry; his sisters: Lydia Dortman and Hannah Sawers; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Sebewaing, from 2-8pm

The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, with additional visitation from 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Sebewaing, MI.

Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sebewaing.
