William Alfred Roblin, age 81, of Caro passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Tendercare, Cass City. He was born on October 29, 1928 in Caro to the late Leon and Delia (Putnam) Roblin. Bill was a lifelong resident of Caro and a graduate of Caro High School. He went to work at the Chevrolet Parts Plant in Saginaw where he worked for thirty years, retiring at age 48. William Alfred Roblin married the former Charlotte Klinkman on September 3, 1949 at the Baptist parsonage in Caro. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2003. He enjoyed his membership as a Golden Age Eagle, Caro FOE #3587, the 1:00 p.m. stop at McDonalds to meet with his friends, lotto tickets, and game shows on T.V. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (Paul) Giddings of Caro and Brenda (Ronnie) Austin of Bad Axe; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Herbert) Campbell of Custer and Gladys Schuch of Charlevoix; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Donald H. Roblin and James W. Roblin; and two sisters, Helen Klea and Eleanor Steffen. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Ray Karr officiating. Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan or the National Association for Down Syndrome.
