William H. Schaper Iii

William H. Schaper III, 60, of Pigeon, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit after a short illness.

Bill was born April 22, 1962 in Bad Axe to the late William II and Betty (Ronan) Schaper and grew up in Linkville.  In 1980 he graduated from Laker High School.  He worked at Tower Automotive in Sebewaing from 1984-2002 and helped on the family farm.  He enjoyed traveling and time spent with his dog Sadie.

Bill is survived by his sisters Debra Englehart of Deford, Diane (Jerry) Wildman of Sebewaing, Marge (Harold) Weisenbach of Sebewaing, and Sandy (Tim) Samczyk of Pigeon; and sister-in-law Tracy of Caseville.  He was preceded in death by his brother Leasly "Les," and sisters Mary and Jeannette.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, March 14th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lee Wenskay officiating.  Burial will be in Grand Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Thumb Animal Shelter or to the family.
