William "Bill" Shaw

July 7, 1936 — September 25, 2013

William J. Shaw Jr.,77 of Pigeon, passed away Thursday, September 25, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.

He was born in Ypsilanti on July 7, 1936 to the late William and Helen “Bunnie” (Hutchinson) Shaw. After high school, Bill served two terms in the United States Army.

Bill worked as a plumber several years down state before moving to the Thumb in the early seventies.
He was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Caseville. Bill was a great help and friend to many people; his wit and humor will be greatly missed.

Surviving are nephew John (Louise) Ulrich; niece, Shawna (Dave) Makielski and great nephews, Ian and Alex Wilkinson.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Bill’s special friends, Jane Rosenall, Bill Bollinger, Linda Yantis, Al Collison, and many more. Their time, assistance, and friendship went above and beyond. We can never thank them enough.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brother in law, Bette and Charles Ulrich, great niece, Casey Ulrich.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Friday, September 27 at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton with interment in Grandlawn Cemetery, by his parents.
Memorials may be given to the Pigeon VFW.
