Wm. Gale Goodall of Caro, age 87, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport. Gale was born November 21, 1927 in Cass City, the son of the late William John & Eva (Cole) Goodall. He was united in marriage with the former Annabelle Williamson in July of 1963 in Gaylord and the couple lived in the Bridgeport area for many years. Ann preceded Gale in death in February of 1981. He was employed at Michigan Bean Company in Saginaw as a Master Electrician, retiring July 22, 1989. Gale was an active member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Akron. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking, but his greatest joy was being with all of his grandchildren and extended family. Gale is survived by five children and their spouses, Connie & Larry Lingle of Birch Run, Bill & Terri Goodall of Midway, Utah, Bill Goetz of Gillette, Wyoming, Bruce & Joan Goetz of Saginaw, Stuart Goodall of Oak Island, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff Lingle, Julie & John Leach, Kaitlyn & Melissa Goodall, Andrew & Padmini Goodall, Michella Brumbelow, Malisa Goetz, Matthew Goetz, Tanya Thomas, Sasha Goetz, Barbara Kenny, Patrick, Jr. & Erica Kenny, Greg & AnnMarie Eastridge, Nicole & Eric Scott; eleven great-grandchildren, Dakota & Mireya Lingle, Mitchell & Elizabeth Leach, Claire Leach, Grant Leach, Jason Leach, Adeleigh Goodall, Michael Verrier, Jonathan Varney, Emily Kenny, Nathan Rieg, Harper Eastridge; one great-great-granddaughter, Natalie Lingle; one brother, Phil & Eileen Goodall of Kalamazoo; three sisters, Molly & Morris Montague of Battle Creek, Mary Thayer of Caro and Ruth Jaster of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. Gale also is survived by a special friend and companion for the last thirty-two years, Joyce Houghteling of Caro; his extended family, Ron Houghteling of Caro, Lynn & Dan Smith of Caro, Lisa Gillespie of Marion, Ray & Lori Houghteling of Grand Rapids, Bob & Michelle Houghteling of Big Sky, Montana, and their children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Gale was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Gale Goodall; a son, Robert Goetz; two sisters, Beverly Langmaid, Carol Thorp; brothers-in-law, Robert Thayer, Henry Jaster and Arnold Langmaid. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Dorothy Thon officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the charity of your choice in Gale's name.
