William Ralph Wilson, 100, of Caseville, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care in Pigeon.
Ralph was born September 8, 1920 in Windsor, Illinois to the late William Ralph and Ruby M. (Linvill) Wilson. He attended grade and high school in the Windsor area, before moving to Flint in 1937 and graduating from Flint Central High School in 1938. He was employed at AC Spark Plug Co. and joined the Flint Police Department May 6, 1943, rising to the rank of police captain, retiring May 6, 1968. He was inducted into the US Army Air Corps in 1942 and worked as a B29 fuselage and systems mechanic before being reassigned to the Army Counter Intelligence Corps to serve as a special agent in the 301st CIC Detachment until honorably discharged in July 1945.
He and Betty M. LaBoskey were married September 29, 1956, and moved to the Caseville area in 1968 where he did electrical contracting. He was active in Caseville Twp government, serving on the Police Commission, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and Water Committee. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty July 26, 2005.
He is survived by his sons William R. of Saline and Douglas (Vicky) of Flint; granddaughters Jennifer Wilson, Melanie (James) Coletta, Stephanie (Terry) Granger, Tiffany (Bryan) Guldi and grandson Luther (Michele) Wilson; great-grandchildren Aaron, Ethan, Katie, Jason, Gabriel, Genevieve, Luke, Ava, Reed and Finn.
A memorial mass will be 10:00am Saturday, March 6th at St. Roch Catholic Church. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements
