Zachariah William Jackson

Zachariah William Jackson, age 23, was carried safely into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on September 25, 2023.

Zach was born May 16, 2000, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, the firstborn son of Katie Layer Jackson and the late SSG William S. Jackson II. He attended Midcoast Christian Academy and graduated with the class of 2018. Zach enjoyed many outdoor activities including hiking, sailing, rock climbing, BMX biking, and skateboarding. He was artistically and musically talented. Zach had attended Calvin University of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and studied political science.

Zachariah is survived by his mother, Katie Layer Jackson; brothers, Levi and Samuel; sisters, Hannah, Abigail, and Melody, all of Manitou Springs, Colorado; maternal grandparents, David & Kathy Layer of Saginaw; paternal grandparents, William S. & Carolyn Jackson of Rockland, Maine; uncles, Casey (Heidi) Layer and family of Saginaw, Benjamin (Sarah) Layer and family of Siedlice, Poland, and David (Stephanie) Jackson of Watertown, Massachusetts; and aunt, Victoria Jackson and her daughter, Stella. Zach was preceded in death by his father, Staff Sergeant William S. Jackson II, on November 11, 2006, in Iraq.

Private family services will be held.
